SENIOR ADVOCATE – FITNESS TO PRACTISE, MATERNITY COVER, 5+ YEARS’ EXPERIENCE, LONDON/HYBRID, £60,000–£75,000 DOE – Join a reputable organisation offering a comprehensive benefits package, flexible hybrid working and the opportunity to lead a specialist Fitness to Practise advocacy team. • A reputable organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Advocate to join its Fitness to Practise team on a 12-month fixed term contract to provide maternity cover.
• The successful Senior Advocate will lead a team of in-house presenting officers, coordinate assignments for external advocates and ensure high-quality representation during statutory committee hearings.
• Although primarily managerial, the role will also involve direct advocacy in complex cases, with occasional appearances in the High Court.
• This is a hybrid position, requiring 1–2 days per week in the London office, with the remainder worked remotely.
• You will be a qualified Barrister with a minimum of 5 years’ experience, with a background in professional regulation or a comparable regulatory environment.
• You will have a proven track record in tribunal advocacy, together with the ability to interpret and apply complex legislation, case law and regulatory guidance.
• Strong leadership, coaching and communication skills are essential. Experience of handling high-profile cases would be advantageous.
• On offer is a competitive salary of £60,000–£75,000 DOE, together with a comprehensive benefits package including a generous pension, life insurance, employee assistance programmes and flexible working arrangements.
