Penguin Recruitment
Senior Air Quality Consultant

Location: London

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be working with a leading multidisciplinary consultancy in the search for an experienced Senior Air Quality Consultant to join their growing London-based team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Air Quality professional looking to take the next step in their career. The successful candidate will join a highly regarded consultancy with a strong and growing project portfolio, offering exposure to high-end residential developments, complex planning projects, industrial permitting and odour assessments.

The Role

The successful Senior Air Quality Consultant will take a leading role in the delivery of a varied portfolio of projects, working across both development and industrial sectors.

Key areas of work will include:

  • Air Quality Assessments for planning and development projects

  • High-end and major residential developments, particularly across London

  • Air Quality Impact Assessments and technical reporting

  • Industrial permitting and Environmental Permit applications

  • Odour Assessments and Odour Management Plans

  • Regulatory compliance and emissions assessments

  • Client and project management

  • Working collaboratively with a wider multidisciplinary team

The role will offer a high level of responsibility and autonomy, with the opportunity to take ownership of projects and develop long-term client relationships.

Career Development & Growth

This position offers significantly more than a traditional Senior Consultant role.

The successful candidate will have a genuine opportunity to play a key role in the continued growth of the Air Quality and Odour service. For an individual with the ambition to progress, there will be opportunities to support the development of the team, mentor junior staff and, ultimately, build and lead a team around them.

The consultancy does not operate with a restrictive or overly flat structure, meaning career progression and increased responsibility are not limited by a rigid hierarchy. The successful candidate will be given the opportunity to develop their career based on their ambition, performance and contribution to the wider business.

Business Development Opportunities

The client is also keen to speak with commercially minded Air Quality professionals who are interested in developing client relationships and contributing to the growth of the business.

There will be genuine opportunities to get involved in:

  • Developing existing client relationships

  • Identifying and developing new business opportunities

  • Supporting the growth of the Air Quality and Odour service

  • Raising the profile of the consultancy within the development and industrial sectors

  • Taking an increasingly strategic role within the business

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate is likely to have:

  • Significant consultancy experience within Air Quality and/or Odour

  • Experience delivering Air Quality Assessments for planning and development projects

  • Experience working on residential or mixed-use developments

  • Knowledge or experience of Industrial Permitting and Environmental Permit applications

  • Experience undertaking or managing Odour Assessments

  • Strong technical and report-writing skills

  • Experience managing projects and client relationships

  • The ability to mentor and support junior team members

  • A commercial mindset and an interest in business development

  • A genuine ambition to progress into a leadership or team-building role

Why Apply?

This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Air Quality Consultant who is looking for:

  • Exposure to high-quality and high-end development projects

  • A varied role spanning planning, industrial permitting and odour

  • Greater responsibility and autonomy

  • Genuine career progression

  • The opportunity to grow and develop a team

  • Business development and client-facing opportunities

  • The opportunity to influence and shape a growing technical service
