Senior Preconstruction Manager - #2135881

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Preconstruction Manager to join a growing and highly respected Design & Build contractor as they continue to secure larger and more complex projects across London and the South East.

Traditionally known for delivering high-quality commercial fit-out schemes, the business is now successfully winning larger, more technically challenging projects and requires an experienced preconstruction professional to strengthen its senior leadership capability.

With multiple live tenders exceeding £10m and recently securing a major £10m project, this is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the next stage of the company's growth.

Reporting directly into the Pre-Contracts Director, you will take ownership of complex preconstruction projects from initial enquiry through to contract award.

You will be responsible for leading the preconstruction process on projects typically ranging from £5m-£15m, whilst also providing guidance and support to a growing preconstruction team.

Responsibilities include:

• Leading complex Detail & Build tenders from feasibility through to contract award.
• Developing bid strategies, preconstruction programmes and delivery methodologies.
• Managing client relationships throughout the tender process.
• Leading design management, technical reviews and buildability assessments.
• Producing and reviewing cost plans alongside commercial and estimating teams.
• Driving value engineering exercises and risk mitigation strategies.
• Managing presentations, interviews and contractor proposals.
• Working closely with operations teams to ensure successful project handover.
• Mentoring and supporting less experienced members of the preconstruction team.
• Supporting the business in securing and converting major opportunities.

We are keen to speak with experienced Senior Preconstruction Managers, Pre-Contracts Managers or Preconstruction Leads who have a proven track record of delivering larger, complex Design & Build projects.

You will ideally possess:

• Strong Design & Build experience within commercial fit-out and refurbishment.
• Proven experience working on projects valued between £5m-£15m+.
• Exposure to structural refurbishment, cut & carve or technically challenging schemes.
• Strong client-facing and work-winning ability.
• Excellent commercial awareness and understanding of project delivery.
• Experience leading multiple tenders simultaneously.
• The ability to mentor and develop others.
• A stable employment history demonstrating longevity and progression.
