Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor - London

A progressive London cost consultancy is looking to appoint an experienced Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor to strengthen their specialist building services offering. Working across major residential, mixed-use, commercial and living-led developments, this is an excellent opportunity for a Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor to become involved in complex, design-led schemes across the capital.

The successful Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor will lead the commercial management of mechanical and electrical packages from early design and cost planning through procurement, construction and final account. The Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor will work closely with developers, engineers, architects and contractors, providing informed cost advice and helping clients make commercially sound decisions throughout the development lifecycle.

This position would suit a technically strong Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor who enjoys working on ambitious London developments where building services represent a significant element of overall project cost and performance. The Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor will have the opportunity to take ownership of commissions, develop client relationships and support junior team members while contributing to the continued growth of the MEP cost management service.

Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor - Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading MEP cost planning, estimating and benchmarking

  • Reviewing mechanical and electrical designs and identifying cost implications

  • Advising clients on MEP procurement and package strategy

  • Preparing tender documentation and analysing specialist contractor returns

  • Managing valuations, variations, change control and cost reporting

  • Monitoring MEP budgets and identifying commercial risks and opportunities

  • Negotiating specialist contractor accounts and final accounts

  • Working closely with clients and design teams throughout project delivery

Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor - Candidate Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Building Services or a related construction discipline

  • Strong UK MEP Quantity Surveying or building services commercial experience

  • Previous consultancy or specialist M&E cost management experience

  • MRICS, MCIOB or working towards a recognised professional qualification

  • Strong understanding of MEP procurement and building services packages

  • Experience across residential, mixed-use, commercial or large-scale development projects

  • Confident client-facing and commercially astute
