An international law firm is seeking a qualified lawyer to join its Office of the General Counsel team in London. This role focuses on compliance, client onboarding, engagement terms, risk management and intake matters across the EMEA region, working closely with partners, clients and senior business stakeholders.

Description
Reporting into the General Counsel function, you will support the firm's compliance and intake operations across EMEA, providing legal and commercial guidance on a wide range of risk-related matters.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing and negotiating outside counsel guidelines (OCGs), RFPs, codes of conduct and client engagement terms.
- Acting as a key liaison between partners, business services teams and client stakeholders on compliance and contractual matters
- Advising on client onboarding, matter opening processes and associated risk considerations.
- Supporting governance bodies and senior stakeholders on ethics, compliance and firm risk matters.
- Reviewing and approving information barriers and ethical walls in line with firm policies and client requirements.
- Assisting with the development and implementation of policies, procedures and best practice guidance.
- Providing support and guidance to colleagues on compliance processes and systems.
Profile
To be successful in this position, you will have:
- A law degree and current practising qualification as a solicitor or equivalent.
- Experience gained within a law firm, professional services environment or similar regulated setting.
- Knowledge of compliance, conflicts, legal risk, client onboarding, contract review or related areas.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience drafting, interpreting and implementing policies and procedures.
- The ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- A proactive approach and commitment to continuous professional development.
