Strategic Director of Housing, Environment and Communities - #2140722

We are seeking an experienced senior local government leader to provide strategic leadership across housing, environment and community services.

The postholder will lead the development and delivery of strategic priorities, ensuring high-quality services, strong financial management and positive outcomes for residents and communities.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing strategic leadership across housing, environment and community services.
• Leading housing strategy, HRA business planning, housing development and regeneration.
• Driving effective partnership working across health, communities, voluntary and public-sector organisations.
• Overseeing community investment, grants and engagement.
• Providing leadership on safeguarding, vulnerability and resident wellbeing.
• Leading service transformation, performance improvement and financial sustainability.
• Working effectively with elected members, partners and senior stakeholders.
• Contributing to corporate strategy and wider Council priorities.

The ideal candidate will have significant senior leadership experience within local government, with a strong understanding of housing, community services, strategic partnerships, financial management and the wider local government environment.
