Project Engineer

The role requires an operationally authorised individual who can assist in delivery of several projects and assist in the progression of staff.

Direct Line Management responsibility for circa 8 -10 permanent and Agency staff

Coordinate with Programme and Project Managers to deliver the regional Connections portfolio of circa £150M per year.

Responsible for operating on the Network at all voltages, from LV up to and including 132kV.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the delivery of a portfolio of multiple projects, civil or electrical.
• Co-ordinate with the Commissioning team and other stakeholders to ensure resources are in place to efficiently deliver the project.
• Act as a mentor and coach to assist in the team’s authorisations development.
• Assist with composition of CDM and Safety Documentation where required.

Main Duties:

• Support the design team with the development of workable designs and meaningful reports.
• Either Directly or Remotely manage and supervise a team of electrical fitters and or civil operatives whether staff or contractors. This will be on a portfolio of schemes like APP or Major Connections.
• Works with P6 Planners and Project Manager to input into the schedule of works and RACI matrix for projects.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

• The role requires a sound background in Primary and Grid Substation and Cable/OHL systems and experience of working in a project delivery environment.
• The candidate must have an Electrical Engineering Degree or an HNC/HND
• Holds a Dual voltage SAP status.
• Holds a NRSWA supervisor certificate.
• Holds a NEBOSH Certificate.
• Holds SMSTS qualification.
• Holds full driving license.
