ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced Senior Facilities Manager to take ownership of facilities, maintenance and compliance across a portfolio of hotel properties in London. This is a hands-on, multi-site leadership position for someone who can combine strategic planning with practical day-to-day operational management. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining safe, compliant and well-presented properties while leading internal maintenance teams and external contractors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead facilities and maintenance operations across multiple hotel sites, ensuring each property is safe, compliant, operational and maintained to a high standard.
  • Manage and coordinate handymen, maintenance engineers, technicians and other property support staff across the portfolio.
  • Plan and prioritise reactive maintenance, planned preventive maintenance and longer-term capital works.
  • Own relationships with external contractors and suppliers, including tendering, performance management, cost control and service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Monitor statutory and operational compliance, including fire safety, health and safety, water hygiene, electrical systems, gas systems, lifts, plant rooms and other building services as applicable.
  • Manage maintenance budgets, purchase approvals and expenditure, identifying opportunities to improve value without compromising safety or guest experience.
  • Carry out regular site inspections, maintain action plans and ensure defects are followed through to completion.
  • Respond to urgent operational issues and coordinate appropriate out-of-hours support where required.
  • Work closely with hotel and property management teams to minimise disruption to guests, residents, staff and hotel operations.
  • Develop practical standards, reporting processes and maintenance schedules that can be applied consistently across the group.
  • Support refurbishment, renovation and improvement projects, coordinating contractors, timelines, access and quality control.
  • Provide clear reporting to senior management on risks, priorities, budgets, contractor performance and major works.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Approximately 5 years of facilities, maintenance, property or building-services experience, with atleast 3  years at management level.
  • Proven experience managing multiple sites, ideally within hotels, hospitality, serviced accommodation, residential property or another operational property environment.
  • Demonstrable experience leading maintenance teams and managing third-party contractors.
  • Strong knowledge of planned and reactive maintenance, compliance, contractor management, SLAs and building-services operations.
  • Commercial awareness, including budgeting, procurement, quotation review and cost control.
  • Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage several live issues across different sites at the same time.
  • A practical, hands-on approach and the confidence to inspect problems, challenge contractors and make sound operational decisions.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with senior management, hotel teams, suppliers and engineers.
  • A full UK driving licence would be advantageous for travel between sites.
