This is a long-term role for a professional, reliable and child-friendly housekeeper to support a busy family with two children. The ideal candidate will be organised, proactive and confident in shopping and preparing nutritious family meals, including allergy-aware cooking.
Key Priorities1. Cooking and shopping
- Prepare healthy, varied family meals and children's snacks/lunchboxes.
- Cook a variety of foods and meats with confidence.
- Manage cooking and egg allergies, with a good understanding of cross-contamination.
- Plan meals, do the shopping and keep the kitchen well stocked and organised.
2. Laundry
- Manage family washing, drying, ironing, folding and putting away. Extra care for delicate fabrics.
- Change bed linen and towels as required.
- Ensure the children's school clothes and uniforms are clean, organised and ready for the week.
3. Cleaning & Housekeeping
- Taking care of the home like it was your own, as someone who takes pride in their work

- Clean and tidy the home daily.
- •
- Keep bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen and living areas clean and organised.
- •
- Monitor and restock cleaning products and household essentials.
- •
- Carry out a quarterly deep/spring clean, including cupboards, wardrobes and less-frequently cleaned areas.
- •
- Running errands such as returns and dry cleaning.
- •
- Looking after the small garden alongside the gardener.
This is primarily a housekeeping role, but the housekeeper will provide practical day-to-day support for the two children, including:
- Preparing healthy snacks and lunchboxes.
- Preparing children's meals
- Making sure school uniforms and clothes are clean and ready.
- Helping organise school clothes and other everyday items for the following day.
- Keeping the children's bedrooms, wardrobes and belongings tidy and organised.
- Providing occasional practical help with the children when needed as part of the normal household routine.
Someone proactive, reliable, organised, trustworthy, discreet, energetic and able to work independently. They should have high standards of cleanliness, enjoy working in a family environment and be comfortable around children.
Experience with allergy-safe cooking is important.
Living relatively locally would be beneficial due to early starts during school weeks.
Home does have a small hamster
Working ScheduleWeek 1: Monday - Friday: 10 am - 8 pm ( hours a day) (flexibility to occasionally stay a little later if required on a Monday night til 9 pm)
Week 2: Monday- Friday: 11 am- 5 pm
Timesheets required ( no work, no pay) (160 hrs Month overall )
Some flexibility is appreciated depending on the family's schedule.
£25 per hour, PAYE - Week 1 - 50hrs Week 2 - 30hrs -
