About the Role

Our client are looking for an experienced Procurement Specialist to join a growing procurement consultancy that supports a range of public sector and not-for-profit organisations. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in delivering compliant, value-driven procurement projects while working closely with clients to achieve successful commercial outcomes. They manage contracts worth more than £100m annually across various public sector industries.

The successful candidate will manage procurement activities from initial engagement through to contract award, providing expert guidance on procurement routes, market engagement, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end procurement projects on behalf of public sector clients.
  • Advise customers on the most appropriate procurement strategies to meet their objectives.
  • Conduct activities including competitive procurements, further competitions, direct awards, and market benchmarking exercises.
  • Produce clear and robust procurement documentation, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and best practice.
  • Build trusted relationships with stakeholders, providing high levels of customer service and proactive communication.
  • Identify and resolve procurement challenges, taking ownership of issues and delivering practical solutions.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Proven experience operating within public sector procurement.
  • Experience managing procurement exercises from initiation through to contract award.
  • Strong understanding of current public procurement legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.

Desirable

  • CIPS qualification (Level 4 or above), or working towards professional accreditation.
  • Experience within technology, digital, professional services, or indirect procurement categories.
  • Knowledge of framework agreements and collaborative procurement arrangements.
  • Exposure to sectors such as healthcare, housing, emergency services, local government, or wider public sector organisations.
