Finishing Manager - #2142038

We’re looking for an experienced Aftercare Finishing Manager to join a high-end residential contractor, taking ownership of the project after practical completion and ensuring every detail is delivered to the highest possible standard.

This is a client-facing position requiring someone who is highly organised, commercially aware and confident managing the final stages of a project through snagging, defects, commissioning and handover.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in high-end residential refurbishment, with refurbishment experience being particularly important over pure new-build experience.

LONDON BASED

Salary: Up to £75,000 depending on experience

You’ll take responsibility for the smooth and professional delivery of the aftercare and finishing process, ensuring outstanding issues are identified, managed and resolved efficiently.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing snagging and defects from identification through to completion.
• Coordinating subcontractors and trades to ensure defects are rectified to the required standard and within agreed timescales.
• Overseeing finishing, commissioning and handover activities.
• Ensuring properties are presented to an exceptionally high standard prior to client handover.
• Managing outstanding works and ensuring they are closed out efficiently.
• Liaising closely with clients, consultants, contractors and other project stakeholders.
• Providing clear and professional communication throughout the aftercare process.
• Managing expectations and maintaining strong client relationships.
• Identifying issues early and taking ownership of getting them resolved.
• Working collaboratively with the wider project team to ensure a seamless transition from construction through to completion and aftercare.

You’ll ideally have:

• Proven experience as an Aftercare Manager, Finishing Manager, Snagging Manager or similar within high-end residential construction.
• Strong experience in snagging and defects management.
• A background in residential refurbishment, ideally with refurbishment experience outweighing new-build experience.
• Proven experience managing commissioning and handover.
• Excellent client-facing skills, with experience dealing directly with private clients, consultants and other key stakeholders.
• Experience working within a high-end residential environment where attention to detail and quality are paramount.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple issues and priorities simultaneously.
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the confidence to take ownership from start to finish.

What we are looking for:

This role would suit someone who understands that the job isn’t finished when the main construction works are complete.

You’ll have a sharp eye for detail, a strong understanding of quality and finishes, and the confidence to manage both the practical and client-facing aspects of the aftercare process.

You’ll be comfortable dealing with discerning private clients and professional consultants, while also being able to hold contractors and subcontractors accountable for delivering outstanding works to the required standard.

Most importantly, you’ll take personal ownership of the finish and have the drive to make sure every detail is resolved properly.
