Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant - Kensington & Chelsea

We are looking for a compassionate, enthusiastic and motivated Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant to join a supportive SEN school in Kensington & Chelsea.

The school provides a nurturing and inclusive environment where pupils with additional needs are supported to develop academically, socially and emotionally. Staff work closely together to create a positive learning environment that recognises the individual strengths, needs and potential of every pupil.

This position would be particularly well suited to a psychology graduate looking to gain valuable hands-on SEN experience before progressing into a career in educational psychology, clinical psychology, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy or teaching.

As a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside experienced teachers and specialist staff, providing tailored 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with a range of additional needs. You will play an important role in helping pupils engage with their learning, build confidence and develop their communication and social skills.

Role Details

  • Full-time, term-time position
  • Based within a specialist SEN school in Kensington & Chelsea
  • 1:1 and small-group support alongside classroom-based learning
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists and wider support staff
  • Support pupils with their academic, social and emotional development
  • Gain valuable practical experience within an SEN setting
  • Supportive and welcoming school environment

Ideal Candidate

  • Psychology graduate or final-year Psychology student
  • Genuine interest in child development, SEN and/or mental health
  • Patient, empathetic and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Reliable and committed to supporting young people
  • Able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Previous experience working with children or young people is advantageous
  • SEN experience, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties or other additional needs, is desirable but not essential

This is an excellent opportunity for a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant to gain meaningful experience within a specialist educational setting, develop their understanding of SEN and make a genuine difference to the lives of children and young people.

Salary will be determined by the successful candidate's qualifications and relevant experience, and will be in accordance with the client's pay policy.
