Junior Software & Systems Developer

• Location: London - Hybrid working
• Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum

A new exciting opportunity has become available to join one of the UK's leading independent providers of 4G & 5G broadband as a Junior Software & Systems Developer. A technology-led business, continually developing their internal systems, websites, automation, AI capabilities, and diagnostic tools to enhance efficiency and customer experience.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Initially, work closely with the Technical Support team to learn their technology, systems, and the real-world problems the customers encounter.
• Improve systems behind Technical Support, including remote diagnostics, Zendesk workflows, automation, and AI.
• Provide hands-on Technical Support as required.
• Collaborate with the Senior Developer on software development tasks and learn existing systems, codebase, and development processes.
• As your experience grows, progressively take on more development work and greater ownership across internal systems, websites, APIs, integrations, automation, and other technology projects.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Familiarity with at least one programming language such as PHP, Python, JavaScript/Node.js, C#, Java, or similar.
• Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Basic understanding of databases and SQL.
• An understanding of APIs and how different systems communicate.
• Good general IT and technology knowledge.
• Strong problem-solving ability and enthusiasm for learning unfamiliar technologies.
• Logical and methodical approach to problem-solving.
• Detail-focused with a commitment to producing accurate work.
• Motivated, proactive, and dependable.
• Adaptable and comfortable working across development, systems, and technical tasks.
• Good communication skills, comfortable working with colleagues and customers.

Desirable:

• Experience or knowledge in Git or GitLab, PHP, Zapier or other automation platforms, Zendesk, AI tools, APIs or Large Language Models (LLMs), cloud services or Linux, networking fundamentals, remote device management or monitoring platforms, telecommunications or broadband technology, customer service or Technical Support.
