Quantity Surveyor
Location: Euston, London
Salary: Up to £60,000 + Benefits
Working Pattern: Hybrid (4 days office / 1 day WFH)
Our client, a leading main contractor delivering major infrastructure projects across the UK, is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their team working on the HS2 Utilities Programme based in Euston, London.
Experience working under NEC contracts is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer subcontract and supplier contracts in accordance with contractual requirements.
- Support the management and assessment of Early Warning Notices (EWNs) and Compensation Events.
- Assist with the monthly valuation and payment process for subcontractors.
- Produce accurate cost reports, forecasts and expenditure updates.
- Monitor project costs against budgets and target costs.
- Support the preparation of cash flow forecasts and financial reporting.
- Assist with change management processes and assess the commercial impact of project changes.
- Review project instructions and identify associated cost implications.
- Help manage commercial risk and contingency allowances across project packages.
- Assist in the preparation and agreement of final accounts.
- Review and analyse subcontractor quotations and tender returns.
- Support procurement activities and provide commercial input into tender evaluations.
- Work collaboratively with operational teams to ensure commercial objectives are achieved.
- Maintain accurate project records and contractual documentation.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering, infrastructure, utilities or major construction projects.
- Strong understanding and practical experience working with NEC contracts.
- Experience managing subcontractor accounts, valuations and variations.
- Good knowledge of commercial reporting, cost control and change management.
- Ability to interpret contractual documentation and identify commercial risks.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and commercial management systems.
- Experience working on major infrastructure projects valued at £100m+.
- Utilities, rail or transportation project experience.
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline.
- Membership of RICS or progress towards professional accreditation.
