An established UK engineering manufacturer is looking to recruit an Area Sales Manager to support continued growth within the data-centre and commercial building-services market.

This is a technical, project-led sales position focused on developing relationships with M&E consultants, consulting engineers and mechanical contractors, identifying projects at an early stage and influencing specifications through to tender and final order.

The company designs and manufactures engineered HVAC and building-services equipment, with solutions including:

• Packaged plant rooms and packaged skids
• Plate heat exchangers
• Chilled and buffer vessels
• Calorifiers and commercial hot-water equipment
• Pressure vessels and thermal storage
• Associated heating and cooling equipment

The Role

• Develop new business across London, the South East and surrounding areas
• Target M&E consultants, contractors and key project stakeholders
• Identify new data-centre and commercial HVAC projects
• Develop relationships with consultants and influence equipment specifications
• Follow projects from initial design/specification through tender to order
• Conduct customer meetings, technical presentations and site visits
• Work with customers to understand applications and develop suitable technical solutions
• Develop both new and existing accounts across the territory
• Manage quotations, project opportunities and sales pipeline
• Work closely with internal engineering, estimating and technical teams

The Person

We are looking for an experienced technical sales professional from the HVAC, commercial heating/cooling or building-services industry.

Relevant product backgrounds could include:

• Packaged plant / plant rooms
• Heat exchangers
• Commercial heating and hot water
• Chillers / cooling
• Calorifiers
• Buffer or pressure vessels
• Pumps / hydronic systems
• Boilers
• HVAC equipment and engineered building-services solutions

Experience selling through M&E consultants and mechanical contractors would be particularly advantageous, as would a track record of specification or project-led sales.

You could currently be working as an Area Sales Manager, Specification Sales Manager, Regional Sales Manager, Business Development Manager, Technical Sales Manager or Sales Engineer.

Direct data-centre experience would be beneficial but is not essential where you have strong transferable commercial HVAC/building-services experience.
