Chartered Building Surveyor - London
Ready to take your career beyond the ordinary?

If you're a Chartered Building Surveyor looking for more than just another consultancy role, this is an opportunity to join a business that's growing rapidly, winning high-quality instructions, and investing in the people driving its success.

You'll work alongside experienced Directors who value expertise, trust you to manage your own projects, and provide the support and exposure needed to accelerate your career. Whether your passion lies in traditional building surveying or you're keen to expand your expertise in cladding and fire safety, you'll be working on technically challenging projects that make a genuine difference.

The Role
From day one, you'll take ownership of a varied workload, advising clients across commercial, residential, education and public sector portfolios. You'll deliver a broad range of professional building surveying services while playing an important role in the consultancy's expanding cladding and fire safety offering.

This is a role for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, building lasting client relationships, and delivering practical, commercially focused advice.

Key Responsibilities
As a Chartered Building Surveyor, you'll:

  • Manage a diverse range of building surveying instructions from initial appointment through to completion.
  • Carry out condition surveys, defect diagnosis and building pathology investigations.
  • Act as Contract Administrator on refurbishment, repair and fit-out projects.
  • Deliver cladding assessments, fire safety surveys and remediation advice.
  • Provide guidance on Building Regulations, statutory compliance and fire safety requirements.
  • Produce high-quality technical reports, specifications, schedules of condition and dilapidations documentation.
  • Undertake technical due diligence and pre-acquisition surveys.
  • Support and mentor Assistant and Graduate Surveyors as they develop their careers.
  • Build strong client relationships and contribute to the continued growth of the business.

About You
You'll be an MRICS-qualified Chartered Building Surveyor with:

  • At least two years' post-qualification experience within a consultancy environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of construction, building pathology and contract administration.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects independently while maintaining exceptional standards.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills with confidence in front of clients.
  • A commercial mindset and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • The ambition to continue developing your career towards senior leadership.

Why Join?
This is a consultancy where your contribution is recognised, your development is prioritised, and your career progression isn't left to chance.

You'll benefit from:

  • A collaborative, supportive and highly experienced team.
  • Exposure to a varied portfolio of complex and prestigious projects.
  • A clear pathway towards Associate and Director level.
  • Ongoing investment in professional development, technical training and CPD.
  • The autonomy to make decisions, take ownership and build your reputation as a trusted adviser.

If you're ready to join a consultancy where you'll be challenged, supported and given every opportunity to progress, apply now!
