Key Account Manager (PAYE Umbrella Payroll)

Manage Relationships. Drive Growth. Build Your Career.

Our client is one of the contractor payroll sector's most respected providers, trusted by recruitment businesses across the UK for its compliance expertise, service excellence and long standing client partnerships. As a Key Account Manager, you will inherit an established portfolio of active, billing recruitment agency accounts, giving you the opportunity to make an immediate impact while developing your earnings through account growth from day one, rather than having to build a book of business from scratch.

This role has a strong focus on PAYE Umbrella payroll. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Account Manager, Recruitment Consultant or payroll professional with a background in PAYE Umbrella payroll, seeking a more strategic, relationship led role within a growing and highly respected business.

The Opportunity

This is far more than account maintenance.

You will become a trusted adviser to recruitment agencies, strengthening relationships, increasing contractor volumes and identifying commercial opportunities across your portfolio. You'll have genuine ownership, autonomy and the opportunity to influence revenue growth from day one.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop a portfolio of recruitment agency accounts, with a focus on PAYE Umbrella contractor arrangements
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers
  • Increase contractor numbers and account revenue across PAYE Umbrella and wider payroll services
  • Identify opportunities to expand service usage, including PAYE Umbrella uptake
  • Support client onboarding and contractor engagement, including PAYE Umbrella set up and queries
  • Act as the primary contact for agency and contractor enquiries
  • Work closely with payroll, compliance and operations teams to ensure PAYE Umbrella compliance standards are met
  • Deliver an exceptional client experience

Essential Experience

  • Proven experience with PAYE Umbrella payroll
  • Strong understanding of umbrella company models, contractor take home pay, and PAYE Umbrella compliance requirements
  • Experience within contractor payroll, recruitment, account management or workforce solutions

Desirable Background

  • Umbrella payroll more broadly
  • Client relationship management within a recruitment or payroll setting

You will be commercially minded, relationship focused and motivated by delivering excellent service whilst growing client accounts. Your PAYE Umbrella expertise will set you apart and allow you to add value to conversations from day one.

What's on Offer

  • Uncapped commission
  • Established portfolio of active, billing accounts
  • Award winning business
  • Career progression opportunities
  • Professional and supportive culture
  • City of London location

Why Apply?

The strongest Account Managers are rarely looking for just another account management role. They are looking for better clients, stronger earning potential and the opportunity to represent a business with an outstanding reputation. If you have PAYE Umbrella payroll experience and enjoy building relationships, developing accounts and helping clients succeed, this represents an excellent opportunity to accelerate your career.
