One of Adecco's most improved public sector housing clients is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Service Charge Analyst to join their dynamic homeownership team. Reporting directly into the Leasehold & Homeownership Manager, this full time (35 hours per week, Monday to Friday) permanent role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the efficient financial management of service charges within a housing organisation.
Based in London Bridge and offering hybrid working (3-4 days in the office each week), the salary range is between £43,659- £45,696 per annum.
Role Overview
The Service Charge Analyst will be pivotal in ensuring the accurate calculation, monitoring, and reporting of service charges across the organisation. This role demands collaboration with finance, property services, and operational teams to maintain robust service charge management processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Review actual expenditure against service charge budgets and identify variances.
- Forecast future service charge costs based on contracts and historical data.
- Collaborate closely with property managers and finance teams for accurate financial planning.
- Calculating Service Charges:
- Allocate communal costs for services like cleaning, repairs, and maintenance.
- Prepare estimated and actual service charge statements.
- Ensure compliance with lease agreements and contractual obligations.
- Legislation and Compliance:
- Uphold service charge processes in line with relevant legislation.
- Support consultation requirements for major works as needed.
- Stakeholder Support:
- Address leaseholder and tenant queries regarding service charges.
- Assist auditors during annual financial reviews.

- Proven background in preparing service charge budgets and financial statements.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse financial data and resolve discrepancies.
- Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge:
- Understanding of financial and accounting processes (desirable).
- Skills and Abilities:
- Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
- Proficient in Excel, with the ability to organise and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines.
