Finance Manager / Finance Consultant – 6 Month Contract

We’re working with a leading global healthcare business that is looking for an experienced Finance professional to join its team on an initial 6-month contract.

This is an excellent opportunity to join the business at an important time, supporting a significant global product quality issue and helping to manage the associated financial, reporting and controllership activities.

The role will work closely with teams across Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, Operations and Commercial, providing additional finance capacity and ensuring that the financial impact of the issue is accurately tracked, reported and controlled.

As part of the finance team, you will take ownership of a range of financial activities, including:

• Managing and reviewing estimates relating to product returns and associated costs
• Working closely with Supply Chain and operational teams to ensure financial estimates are accurate and up to date
• Representing Finance at regular project and steering group meetings
• Establishing and overseeing processes for customer cost reimbursements
• Tracking customer reimbursement costs and maintaining central cost trackers
• Monitoring the financial impact of product returns, including wholesaler claims and reserves
• Supporting the preparation of information for insurance claims
• Preparing and posting manual journal entries relating to estimated product returns
• Reconciling financial impacts including credit notes, inventory, provisions and other associated costs
• Preparing reconciliations for countries where the relevant activity has been completed
• Investigating and explaining variances between reserves, estimates and actual financial results
• Performing MTD, QTD and YTD variance analysis to identify key operational drivers
• Monitoring outstanding Accounts Receivable associated with the issue
• Supporting management and audit reporting requirements
• Working with Procurement and other stakeholders to ensure supplier claims and associated cost estimates are accurately maintained
• Taking ownership of other finance activities arising from the project as required

We’re looking for a qualified or part-qualified accountant / experienced finance professional who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, complex environment.

You will ideally have experience in:

• Financial control, management accounting or commercial finance
• Balance sheet reconciliations and journal preparation
• Variance analysis and financial reporting
• Provisions, reserves and accruals
• Working across multiple functions and stakeholder groups
• Managing detailed financial data and tracking costs
• Working on projects where there is a high degree of change and ambiguity

Experience within a large, global or regulated organisation would be advantageous, although it is not essential.

Most importantly, you will be highly analytical, commercially aware and confident communicating with stakeholders across the business. You'll need excellent attention to detail and the ability to take ownership of your work in a fast-moving environment.
