We are recruiting for an experienced VP Product Controller to join a leading global financial services business in London.

This is a senior position within the Product Control function, offering significant exposure to senior stakeholders and responsibility for financial control, P&L oversight and performance reporting across the business.

The successful candidate will take ownership of daily P&L and associated controls, month-end processes, balance sheet substantiation and management reporting, while developing a strong commercial understanding of the areas they support.

The role would suit an experienced Product Controller who is comfortable operating with senior stakeholders, has a strong control mindset and is interested in improving and automating existing processes.

• Take ownership of daily P&L production, review and commentary across relevant business areas.

• Manage associated Product Control processes including month-end close, revenue and cost analysis and related financial controls.

• Build strong relationships with key business stakeholders and partner closely with Risk, Treasury, FP&A, Tax, Operations and other Finance teams.

• Develop a detailed understanding of the underlying businesses and their operational processes.

• Prepare and review balance sheet substantiation, ensuring appropriate consideration of valuation, completeness, legal entity and balance sheet classification.

• Produce periodic management information, performance analysis and commentary for senior stakeholders.

• Prepare and review compensation and bonus calculations, coordinating appropriate sign-off with the business and Finance management.

• Identify opportunities to improve, streamline and automate Product Control processes, working with Technology and other stakeholders to deliver enhancements.

• Support the onboarding of new business areas and their integration into existing Finance and Product Control processes.

• Assist with internal and external audit requirements and maintain robust Product Control documentation.

• Help maintain a strong financial control environment across the areas supported.

We are looking for an established Product Controller with experience gained within a bank, financial services firm or similarly complex regulated environment.

You should bring:

• Strong Product Control experience with a detailed understanding of P&L, balance sheet and financial control processes.

• An accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.

• Strong analytical and accounting capabilities with excellent attention to detail.

• The confidence to interact with, influence and challenge senior stakeholders.

• Experience working across Finance and control functions such as Risk, Treasury, Operations and FP&A.

• Strong Excel skills and experience working with general ledger and financial systems.

• Experience operating within a regulated financial services environment.

• A track record of improving, automating or enhancing Product Control processes would be advantageous.
