Our client is seeking an experienced Civil Design Engineer to support the delivery of major water and wastewater infrastructure projects across the UK. This is a fully remote contract opportunity, offering the chance to work on a diverse portfolio of capital programmes within a highly regulated utility environment.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will be responsible for producing and coordinating high-quality civil engineering designs, ensuring compliance with technical standards, health and safety requirements, environmental considerations, and project objectives.

• Produce civil engineering designs, drawings, calculations, specifications, and technical reports.
• Develop practical and cost-effective solutions that meet project and client requirements.
• Coordinate civil design activities with process, mechanical, electrical, and structural engineering disciplines.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and project specifications.
• Participate in design reviews, constructability assessments, and value engineering exercises.
• Support project delivery teams throughout the design lifecycle.
• Contribute technical input to bids, tenders, and project proposals.
• Identify and mitigate design risks while promoting best practices.
• Ensure environmental, sustainability, and health and safety considerations are incorporated into all design activities.
• Maintain accurate and auditable design documentation.

• Degree, HNC, or HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience delivering civil design work within water, wastewater, utilities, infrastructure, or a related engineering environment.
• Strong understanding of civil engineering design principles and construction methodologies.
• Ability to produce practical, buildable, and efficient engineering solutions.
• Experience working within multidisciplinary project teams.
• Good understanding of CDM regulations and design risk management.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Proficiency in relevant engineering software and Microsoft Office applications.

• Experience working on UK water industry projects.
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards professional accreditation.
• Knowledge of BIM and digital engineering processes.
• Experience supporting projects through detailed design and construction phases.
