Established for nearly 30 years, this training provider has many accolades for its innovative and creative approach to nurturing the skills, knowledge and behaviours of young people. 

A Curriculum Manager is sought for the Social and Personal Development Programme which forms part of the studies for 16 - 19 year olds.  Every learner takes part in the programme as part of their vocational studies. 

The Social and Personal Development Programme Curriculum Manager’s purpose is to ensure that not only do learners gain their qualifications but they become more rounded individuals with developed social skills that will give them confidence and the skills to allow them to integrate into ever changing world around them.

This part of the curriculum is well established within the company and allows young people to explore issues in a safe environment they may face and that may shape their lives such as society, identity, sex, mental health, politics, equality, citizenships, media, race and religion, climate etc.

The Role Curriculum Manager
 

• To lead from the front this curriculum by using your exceptional educational skills to deliver approximately 14 hours per week to 16 - 19 year old learners. 
• You will be responsible for the coaching and training of a tutor who will also be delivering the Social and Personal Development Programme. 
• Whilst the curriculum is already well established and graded Outstanding by Ofsted, the company seeks someone who will continually be looking at new approaches in order to consistently improve and enhance the curriculum so it is contemporaneous.

Competencies for the role of Curriculum Manager

You will have a natural interest in what is happening in the world that may impact on young people’s lives, such as society, identity, sex, mental health, politics, equality, citizenships, media, race and religion, climate etc.

• You will understand and appreciate how confusing this may be for a young person and want to provide an arena where they can safely discuss their thoughts and concerns on sensitive and emotive subjects.
• Ideally you will possess a formal teaching qualification – however this can be worked towards.
• Previous experience in the design of curriculum.
• Experience teaching young adults. 
• Able to provide evidence of engaging with learners in the discussion of sensitive and emotive subjects. 
• Overall, you will be someone who wishes to make a difference to the lives of young people. 

PLEASE NOTE: CANDIDATES MUST BE BASED IN THE LONDON AREA ARE THERE ARE TWO DAYS A WEEK CLASS ROOM BASED TEACHING.
