As a Costs Paralegal in the financial services sector, you'll play a vital role in managing legal costs and ensuring accurate documentation. This is a permanent position where your expertise will help the legal department run effectively and efficiently while working independently.

Description

• Manage legal spend across complex litigation and arbitration matters.
• Review, process and monitor legal invoices.
• Track budgets and produce financial management reports.
• Analyse legal costs, time entries and fee allocations.
• Challenge and query external counsel billing where appropriate.
• Build relationships with multiple external law firms.
• Monitor financial performance across a portfolio of disputes.
• Support arbitration matters as required.
• Assist with implementing more structured budgeting and reporting processes.
• Work closely with senior legal stakeholders on spend management and forecasting.

Profile

• 5+ year's experience within a legal operations, legal finance, legal executive or senior paralegal position.
• Experience managing legal spend, budgets, invoices or financial reporting within a legal environment.
• Comfortable reviewing and challenging external counsel invoices and fee allocations.
• Strong Excel skills with the ability to analyse data and produce meaningful reports.
• Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail.
• Able to manage competing priorities independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience working with complex litigation, arbitration or disputes matters would be advantageous.
• Exposure to top-tier law firms or large legal functions would be beneficial.
