The Role

The successful candidate will work closely with the Founder & Chief Investment Officer, placement agent and wider team, managing relationships with existing and prospective investors and communicating CD Capital’s strategy, portfolio developments and performance.

A key focus will be supporting existing and new investor relations, including investor outreach, fundraising materials, meetings and roadshows, due diligence and ongoing LP engagement.

This is a hands-on role offering significant exposure to senior management, institutional investors and CD Capital’s global portfolio. Regular international travel will be required for investor meetings, conferences, roadshows and fundraising activities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Support the management and development of relationships with existing and prospective institutional investors, including pension funds, endowments, foundations, family offices, wealth managers, fund-of-funds and other private markets investors.
2. Drive the fundraising and capital formation activities across CD Capital’s platform
3. Proactively identify and reach out to relevant prospective investors to develop new relationships for CD Capital
4. Coordinate investor meetings, calls, conferences, roadshows and other investor engagement activities, including preparation of briefing materials and follow-up.
5. Work closely with our team to develop and maintain high-quality investor materials, including presentations, fund marketing materials, portfolio updates, factsheets and other communications.
6. Manage responses to investor due diligence requests, Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Due Diligence Questionnaires (DDQs) and other information requests.
7. Coordinate with our team to gather and communicate relevant portfolio, performance and investment information.
8. Assist with quarterly, annual and ad hoc investor reporting and communications.
9. Maintain and develop the firm's investor CRM, ensuring investor records, interactions, pipeline information and follow-up actions are accurate and up to date.
10. Support the management and maintenance of investor data rooms and due diligence documentation.
11. Assist in planning and delivering Annual General Meetings, investor events and portfolio-related meetings.
12. Help communicate portfolio developments and the firm's investment thesis across critical minerals, the energy transition and associated global megatrends.

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will ideally have:

1. Relevant experience within investment funds, investor relations, fundraising process for private equity funds, and business development within private equity, private capital markets, asset management or a related investment environment.
2. A strong understanding of institutional investors, pension funds, high net worth investors and the private capital markets fundraising process.
3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex investment information clearly and confidently.
4. Strong financial and analytical skills and an ability to understand investment performance, portfolio developments and close ended fund structures.
5. Experience producing high-quality investor presentations and written materials.
6. Excellent attention to detail and high standards of accuracy.
7. Strong organisational and project-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines.
8. A proactive and collaborative approach, with the confidence to work effectively with senior internal and external stakeholders.
9. Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to develop long-term professional relationships.
10. A high level of proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
11. Experience using CRM platforms and managing investor databases would be advantageous.
12. Experience within private equity, natural resources, mining, infrastructure, energy transition or other real asset strategies would be beneficial but is not essential.
13. A relevant professional qualification, such as the CFA, IMC or CAIA, or progress towards one, would also be advantageous.
