Project Manager

London & South East | £60,000–£65,000 + 10% Bonus + Company Car/Allowance

I’m currently recruiting for 2 experienced Project Managers to join a specialist fire protection business delivering technically complex projects across London and the South East.

This is a genuine project ownership role, suited to someone with a strong electrical, fire protection or building services background who can take a project from initial planning through to final handover.

You’ll be responsible for the commercial, technical and operational delivery of your projects, working closely with clients, engineers, designers, subcontractors and internal teams.

What you’ll be responsible for

• Taking full ownership of projects from planning and mobilisation through to completion and handover
• Defining project scope, programmes, deliverables and resource requirements
• Managing budgets, forecasting, cost-to-complete and commercial performance
• Coordinating procurement of materials, plant, subcontractors and labour
• Reviewing technical drawings, designs, specifications and system layouts
• Managing engineers, subcontractors and site teams to ensure milestones are achieved
• Acting as the key point of contact for clients, consultants and project stakeholders
• Attending progress meetings and site inspections
• Managing variations, valuations, applications for payment and subcontractor accounts
• Identifying and managing project risks, technical issues and scope changes
• Ensuring projects are delivered in line with relevant fire safety standards and regulations
• Maintaining high standards across quality, safety and compliance
• Working across complex and technically demanding fire protection projects and data centre environments

What I’m looking for

You’ll ideally have a proven background managing fire protection, electrical or building services projects, with strong commercial awareness and the ability to manage projects independently.

Experience with some of the following would be particularly relevant:

• Fire alarm / fire detection
• Fire suppression systems
• Gas or water-mist suppression
• Emergency voice systems
• Dry risers
• Electrical or building services projects
• Design & build / installation projects
• Data centre or other technically complex environments

You’ll also need:

• NVQ Level 3 or above in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline
• CSCS card
• SMSTS
• Full UK driving licence
• Strong commercial and budget management experience
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and system schematics

HNC/HND, FIA or BS 5839 qualifications and experience with CDM are advantageous.

Package

£60,000–£65,000 basic salary DOE

10% annual bonus

Company car or car allowance

Projects across London & the South East

Reading office attendance approximately fortnightly/monthly
