I am working with a forward-thinking client passionate about sustainability in the built environment. They are seeking a Carbon Consultant to join their dynamic London team. Your work as a Carbon Consultant will be varied and impactful. Here's what you can expect on a typical day:

• Conducting detailed carbon assessments for a wide array of projects.
• Collaborating closely with architects, engineers, and consultants to embed sustainability strategies into designs.
• Drafting and delivering technical reports for planning submissions.
• Leading and contributing to client workshops and stakeholder meetings.
• Keeping yourself and the team abreast of regulatory changes and best-practice trends in sustainability.
• Mentoring junior colleagues and promoting knowledge sharing across the team.

Your role will entail a mix of technical and advisory work, including:

• Driving Whole Life Carbon (WLC) assessments and appraisals.
• Developing and implementing Circular Economy strategies.
• Producing WLC assessments, Circular Economy Statements, and Sustainability Statements to support planning submissions.
• Assisting with BREEAM pre-assessments, workshops, and certifications.
• Providing input to sustainability reports and project deliverables.
• Contributing to the management and delivery of small projects as well as supporting larger schemes.
• Representing the consultancy in client and project meetings.
• Communicating technical sustainability information to both technical and non-technical audiences effectively.

The ideal candidate will bring a balance of technical expertise, consultancy experience, and a passion for sustainability. Key requirements include:

• A degree or equivalent qualification in architecture, engineering, consulting, or a related sustainability-focused discipline.
• 3-5 years of direct experience in a built-environment or sustainability consultancy role.
• Expertise in areas such as building sustainability, carbon assessment, Net Zero transition planning, or sustainability advisory services.
• Proven knowledge of BREEAM, Whole Life Carbon (WLC), and Circular Economy principles.
• BREEAM or WLC accreditation (desirable but not essential).
• Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to balance independent work and collaboration in a multidisciplinary environment.
