The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced National Account Manager to join a growing business supplying food and cleaning products into some of the UK's biggest supermarket and retail groups.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially focused account manager who understands the retail environment and already has strong relationships and experience working with major UK supermarkets.

You'll take ownership of key national accounts, developing existing relationships, identifying new opportunities and working closely with customers to grow sales and profitability.

The Role

As National Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing and developing relationships with major UK retail customers, including retailers such as:

• ASDA
• Tesco
• Morrisons
• Sainsbury's
• Co-op
• Other major supermarket and retail groups

You'll be involved across the full account management process, from developing customer relationships and negotiating commercial terms through to promotions, pricing, range reviews and new product opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and develop key national retail accounts
• Build strong, long-term relationships with buyers and commercial teams
• Identify opportunities to increase sales, distribution and profitability
• Lead commercial negotiations with retail customers
• Manage pricing, promotions and trading agreements
• Support new product launches and range development
• Monitor account performance and provide regular sales forecasts and reports
• Understand customer requirements and translate them into commercial opportunities
• Work closely with internal teams including sales, operations, supply chain and product development
• Attend customer meetings, presentations and range reviews
• Keep up to date with retail market trends, competitor activity and customer strategies

About You

We're looking for someone who already understands the UK supermarket and retail landscape and can demonstrate a successful track record managing national accounts.

You'll ideally have:

• Proven experience as a National Account Manager / Account Manager within FMCG, food, household or cleaning products
• Experience supplying products into major UK supermarkets
• A strong understanding of working with retailers such as Tesco, ASDA, Morrisons, Sainsbury's or Co-op
• Experience dealing directly with retail buyers and commercial teams
• Strong commercial and negotiation skills
• A proven ability to grow and develop customer accounts
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• The confidence to negotiate and influence at buyer level
• A commercially driven and proactive approach
• A full UK driving licence
