Windows Platform Engineer – Outside IR35  

12-month contract | Potential extension

We are looking for an experienced Windows Platform Engineer to take ownership of the Windows platform embedded within advanced automated bioreactor systems used by scientists and bioprocess teams worldwide.

This is a hands-on Software Engineering role, focused on Windows platform strategy, lifecycle management, deployment automation and technical troubleshooting across development, manufacturing and customer environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the Windows platform, including OS, drivers, BIOS/firmware and software configuration.
• Lead Windows lifecycle, patching, upgrades and vulnerability management.
• Develop automated deployment and provisioning solutions using PowerShell and related technologies.
• Manage hardware/software baselines and configuration traceability.
• Investigate and resolve complex Windows, networking and device issues.
• Work closely with Software Engineering, Manufacturing, Service and Quality teams.

Key Skills

• Strong Microsoft Windows Enterprise/LTSC experience.
• Windows deployment, imaging, provisioning or endpoint management.
• Strong PowerShell/automation experience.
• Excellent troubleshooting and technical investigation skills.
• Experience working with Windows-based products, industrial systems, automation, laboratory equipment or manufacturing environments.

This role would suit a Windows Platform, Deployment, IT/OT or Systems Engineer who enjoys hands-on technical ownership and automation in a product-focused environment.
