An opportunity is available for an Assurance Manager to join the HS2 Integration Directorate, supporting the delivery of one or more major contracts across the programme. This is a delivery-facing, contractor-facing role where you will take ownership of technical assurance activities within a defined area, working closely with contractors and design organisations to ensure engineering and design outputs are properly assured, integrated and delivered to the required standards. You will work across HS2 functions including Risk, Requirements, Configuration and Change, and BIM, while managing interfaces between different disciplines and organisations. The role offers the opportunity to work at the heart of a major multidisciplinary high-speed rail programme, requiring strong stakeholder management, technical understanding and the ability to engage confidently with engineers, designers, contractors and HS2 teams.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
·Manage technical assurance across one or more delivery contracts.
·Liaise with contractors, designers and HS2 functions including Risk, Requirements, Configuration, Change and BIM.
·Oversee assurance activities, design reviews and engineering processes across multidisciplinary interfaces.
·Review and accept technical assurance evidence and documentation.
·Identify and escalate technical risks, issues and assurance gaps.
·Author and review technical documentation, reports and assurance processes.
·Deliver technical briefings and presentations to varied stakeholders.
·Support audits, verification activities and the collection of technical evidence.
·Monitor how different design disciplines and organisations interface and integrate.
 
What You'll Need:
 
·Experience in technical assurance, design management, systems engineering or project engineering.
·Experience working with contractors and design organisations on major infrastructure projects.
·Strong understanding of assurance principles, systems and frameworks.
·Experience working across multidisciplinary programmes or projects.
·Rail experience is essential; high-speed rail experience is highly desirable.
·Understanding of systems engineering and technical integration.
·Knowledge of CDM 2015 requirements.
·Strong stakeholder and supply chain management skills.
·Ability to communicate effectively across different engineering disciplines.
·Experience authoring and reviewing technical documentation.
 
Desirable:
 
·Understanding of ISO 9001 and quality management principles.
