Commercial Finance Director - L&SE
Location: Stratford (primarily office-based)
Reporting to: Group Finance Director

Morgan McKinley is partnering with a leading property services and maintenance organisation in the search for an experienced Commercial Finance Director to provide strategic, commercial, operational, and financial leadership across its L&SE Responsive Maintenance, L&SE Planned Maintenance, and Midlands Business Units.

Reporting directly to the Group Finance Director, this role will be responsible for driving commercial performance, strengthening financial controls, improving forecasting, and reporting, and supporting operational decision-making across multiple business units. The successful candidate will partner closely with Divisional Managing Directors and senior stakeholders to enhance profitability, cash generation, and overall business performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the senior commercial finance lead for L&SE Responsive Maintenance, L&SE Planned Maintenance, and Midlands Business Units, providing strategic financial support and challenge to divisional leadership teams.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, reforecasting, and performance reporting processes, ensuring accurate financial insight and timely delivery of month-end reporting.
• Drive commercial performance through margin analysis, contract profitability reviews, pricing support, KPI reporting, and business performance reviews.
• Strengthen working capital management by improving control of WIP, accrued income, invoicing, cash collection, and aged debt.
• Partner with the Finance Process Improvement Director to enhance financial controls, standardise reporting, improve data quality, and support finance transformation initiatives.
• Lead, mentor, and develop Finance Business Partners and commercial finance teams, fostering a high-performance, commercially focused finance culture.

About You

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with significant experience in a senior commercial finance leadership role.
• Strong commercial finance and business partnering experience, with the ability to influence senior operational and commercial stakeholders.
• Proven track record of improving financial performance, reporting, controls, and working capital management.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate financial information into clear business insight and drive accountability.
• Experience within property services, construction, maintenance, housing, or a similar operationally focused environment is highly desirable.
