Senior/ Principal Planning Consultant

Location: London

Salary: £50-65,000

Our client, a global multi-disciplinary consultancy, is looking for talented Senior and Principal Town Planners to strengthen its planning team in London. This is an exciting time to join a highly regarded consultancy that is recognised as a UK leader in planning, with a reputation for thought leadership across sustainable infrastructure and development, including Net Zero, ESG, Biodiversity Net Gain and digital transformation.

The successful candidates will:

• Act as Planning Lead or Support Lead on projects across a range of markets and sectors
• Work on an exciting range of infrastructure projects, including renewable energy, water, transportation, buildings and places, nuclear and spatial planning
• Take an active part in bid preparation, tender submissions and framework responses
• Lead multi-disciplinary projects, taking responsibility for project management and delivery
• Support junior colleagues and the Planning team leaders
• Work alongside colleagues in environmental, engineering and design disciplines, across the UK and internationally
• Engage with market and client leads to support business growth and development opportunities
• Shape their career around their own interests, delivering work for a diverse client base

Applicants should have:

• A relevant degree in planning or an equivalent subject
• Chartered status, or be working towards chartership
• An understanding of TCPA, DCO, TWAO or equivalent applications
• Experience and knowledge of Strategic Planning and planning policy
• Knowledge of the Environmental Impact Assessment process (desirable)
• A proven ability to manage multiple assignments, delivering on time and within budget, and to work under pressure to tight deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare accurate, well-presented reports and deliver presentations to internal and external clients
• A demonstrable ability to develop client relationships, and to work well in multi-disciplinary teams while contributing confidently as an individual
