Assistant Quantity Surveyor - #2153198

A London-based property and construction consultancy is looking to appoint an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team. The successful Assistant Quantity Surveyor will support the delivery of high-quality building projects across London while developing their commercial and technical experience.

The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will work alongside experienced surveyors across both pre- and post-contract stages. From early cost planning through to final account, the Assistant Quantity Surveyor will gain practical exposure to the full project lifecycle while becoming increasingly involved with clients, consultants and contractors.

This opportunity would suit an Assistant Quantity Surveyor with some UK consultancy experience who wants to take on more responsibility and continue progressing towards chartership. The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will join a professional environment where strong technical development, attention to detail and client service are valued.

Assistant Quantity Surveyor - Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting with feasibility estimates, cost plans and project budgets

• Preparing tender documentation and supporting procurement exercises

• Reviewing contractor submissions and tender returns

• Supporting interim valuations, variations and change control

• Assisting with the preparation and agreement of final accounts

• Producing cost reports and maintaining project financial information

• Attending client, consultant and site meetings

• Supporting senior Quantity Surveyors throughout project delivery

Assistant Quantity Surveyor - Candidate Requirements:

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related construction discipline

• Previous UK consultancy or PQS experience

• Good understanding of pre- and post-contract quantity surveying duties

• Working towards MRICS or keen to begin the APC process

• Familiarity with JCT contracts and UK procurement routes

• Strong numerical, organisational and communication skills

• Confident working as part of a client-facing project team

• Keen to develop into a more independent Assistant Quantity Surveyor

In Return:
