Private Client Tax Manager - #2153231
Timothy Wiseman
Our client, a well-established UK professional services firm, is looking for a Private Client Tax Manager to join their London team, working with high-net-worth individuals and their families and trusts.
Why This FirmThis is a firm that combines a strong domestic reputation, ranking among the UK's larger accountancy firms, with a genuinely international outlook through its membership of one of the world's largest professional services networks. The London team in particular has a strong bias towards complex, higher-value cases, so it's a place where Private Client specialists get exposure to the harder end of the work rather than routine compliance alone.
What The Job Actually InvolvesYou'll manage and support a diverse portfolio covering high-net-worth individuals, wealthy families, and offshore structures, advising on a range of private client tax issues including international and cross-border matters. There's genuine flexibility to shape the role around your interests, with opportunities across OMB restructuring, offshore trusts and structures, and inheritance tax planning.
Day to day, you'll oversee the preparation, submission and review of tax returns for your delegated clients, manage HMRC interventions such as enquiries and voluntary disclosures, and support senior staff and partners on more complex projects. You'll also get involved in spotting new advisory opportunities, supporting business development, and helping junior team members develop.
What You'll Need- CTA, ACA or ACCA qualified or equivalent
- Either ready to step into a Manager role, or already operating at that level within Private Client Tax
- IT literate, including Excel, Word and tax software
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to plan and prioritise a varied workload
- Genuine client focus, commercial awareness, and a professional curiosity to keep learning
You'll get 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays, with the option to buy or sell up to 5 extra days, alongside agile working built around core hours of 10am to 2pm and two home-working days each week. There's a discretionary annual bonus alongside an Outstanding Performance Award, a dedicated succession-planning programme, and a free, confidential 24-hour Employee Assistance Programme with unlimited counselling and virtual GP access for you and your family.
If you're a Private Client Tax professional looking to build your career around complex, high-value client work, get in touch.
