AI Product and Delivery Lead

Permanent | £95,000–£115,000

Location: London | Hybrid (2 days in the office, 3 remote)

Travel: Occasional travel to other UK offices and client sites

We’re partnering with an organisation to appoint an AI Product and Delivery Lead who can turn an ambitious internal AI roadmap into tools and workflows people use.

This is a hands-on leadership role combining product judgement, technical delivery and building. You’ll decide what should be developed, direct engineering priorities and create prototypes, internal tools and automations yourself. The focus is on building a connected set of capabilities that delivers lasting value, rather than isolated solutions.

The Opportunity

You’ll take ownership of the day-to-day direction and delivery of an internal AI programme, working closely with the Strategy Director. You’ll have the authority to prioritise, reshape or stop work within the agreed roadmap, balancing stakeholder needs with what can be delivered.

You’ll set priorities for one dedicated software engineer and have access to substantial support from a second engineer. You’ll also work alongside an AI Adoption Consultant to make sure the tools being built can be adopted and maintained across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

You’ll be responsible for:

• Owning the AI roadmap and backlog, deciding what to prioritise and what not to pursue.
• Directing engineering delivery, setting clear priorities and making practical decisions about scope and trade-offs.
• Building and shipping prototypes, internal tools and automations yourself.
• Working with stakeholders to understand problems, challenge requests and focus effort where it will have the greatest impact.
• Setting standards for a shared knowledge base and skills library so new AI work builds on existing capabilities.
• Acting as deputy owner of AI governance, including acceptable use, data classification and controls for agentic AI.
• Supporting selected client discovery and pre-sales activity alongside the primarily internal remit.

About You

You’ll have at least three years of experience in product management, technology delivery, consulting or digital transformation, including work you’ve seen through to live use. You’ll also bring:

• Evidence of tools, products or workflows you’ve built, and the ability to explain the decisions behind them.
• Daily practical use of generative AI and confidence with AI-assisted development tools.
• Sound product judgement and the confidence to defend priorities and trade-offs under challenge.
• The technical understanding to work credibly with engineers and question assumptions when needed.
• The ability to say no to senior stakeholders and explain why.
• Confidence working with incomplete information and defining a practical way forward without a detailed specification.

Experience with commercial generative AI, automation or data products would be useful. Familiarity with APIs, agents, MCP, retrieval, evaluation, managed services or B2B technology would also be welcome, but is not essential.
