Technical Manager - #2154079

We're looking for an experienced and solutions-focused Technical Manager to join a leading passive fire protection specialist.

This is a key role providing technical leadership and support across passive fire projects, from tender through to completion. You'll work closely with Pre-Construction, Commercial and Operations teams to ensure solutions are compliant, practical, commercially viable and aligned with current regulations and industry standards.

You'll help manage technical risk, maintain quality, resolve complex issues and strengthen technical capability across the business.

• Provide technical support across Pre-Construction, Commercial and Operations.
• Review drawings, specifications, fire strategies and technical documentation.
• Ensure passive fire systems are compliant, buildable and commercially appropriate.
• Review technical submissions, compliance records and supporting evidence.
• Identify and manage technical, compliance and design risks.
• Work with manufacturers, suppliers and specialist subcontractors on technical requirements and approvals.
• Support audits, inspections, quality reviews and project close-out.
• Resolve technical queries, RFIs, non-conformances and site challenges.
• Attend client meetings, design workshops and site visits.
• Maintain robust technical records in line with the Building Safety Act and Golden Thread requirements.
• Support and mentor junior technical staff.
• Drive continuous improvement and technical best practice.

• Strong experience within passive fire protection or a related technical construction discipline.
• Solid knowledge of passive fire systems, installation methods and manufacturer requirements.
• Understanding of FIRAS, Building Regulations, Building Safety Act and relevant industry standards.
• Experience reviewing drawings, specifications, fire strategies and technical submissions.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Commercial awareness and an understanding of project risk and buildability.
• Experience working with clients, consultants, manufacturers, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Good knowledge of technical software, document control and drawing review processes.
• IFE Level 3 Certificate in Passive Fire Protection, or willingness to work towards it.
• Full UK driving licence.
