Senior Credit Controller - #2155218

We are looking for a strong, tenacious and experienced Senior Credit Controller to join a busy and growing property management group based in North West London.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone with a strong background in rent arrears, credit control and housing/property-related legal processes.

The position offers generous annual leave, on-site parking and hybrid working arrangements.

Key Responsibilities

• Proactively manage and pursue rent arrears, taking timely and appropriate action to maximise rent collection and minimise outstanding balances.
• Manage and monitor tenants' Universal Credit claims, ensuring claims are maintained correctly and payments are received and appropriately allocated to rent accounts.
• Work proactively with tenants, the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), local authorities and other relevant agencies to resolve issues affecting Universal Credit claims.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies, payment delays, suspended claims and other issues that may impact rent payments.
• Monitor accounts following rent increases and take appropriate action where tenants fail to pay the revised rent.
• Initiate and manage County Court Judgments (CCJs) where required, ensuring all procedures and timescales are followed correctly.
• Oversee the progress of possession proceedings, working closely with solicitors, legal representatives and internal teams to ensure cases progress efficiently.
• Oversee Rent Repayment Order (RRO) applications, monitoring incoming applications and coordinating the organisation's response.

Key Requirements:

• Proven experience in credit control, rent arrears or income recovery, preferably within property management, housing or the residential lettings sector.
• A good understanding of Universal Credit and housing-related benefits is desirable.
• Strong knowledge of arrears management and debt recovery procedures.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.
