Assistant Manager - MEDIA / TV / FILM

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Manager to join a growing finance team, supporting a varied portfolio of businesses, entrepreneurs, and clients across the creative and entertainment industries. This is a hands-on role offering a strong mix of accounting, tax, client management, and team leadership, with the opportunity to work closely with Managers and Partners while developing your career.

The Role

You will take responsibility for a portfolio of clients, providing a high-quality accounting and tax service while supporting more junior members of the team.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing sole trader accounts and statutory accounts under FRS 105.
  • Preparing personal and corporation tax returns.
  • Managing MTD and quarterly VAT returns.
  • Preparing capital gains tax computations.
  • Supporting overseas tax compliance and residency reviews.
  • Assisting with business management services for clients.
  • Providing technical accounting and tax support to Managers and Partners.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for clients and third parties.
  • Managing workflow and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Reviewing WIP, budgets and billing across your portfolio.
  • Mentoring and supporting junior team members.
  • Contributing to process improvements and maintaining high standards of client service.

About You

You will be ACA or ACCA qualified, with previous experience at Accounts Senior level and ideally 1-2 years' post-qualified experience.

You'll need strong technical accounting and tax knowledge, excellent communication skills and the confidence to build effective relationships with clients. The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and support junior colleagues is essential.
