Programme Officer

Position Details:

  • Contract Type: Temporary. Contract Length: 5 weeks Monday - Friday 35 hours per week
  • Hourly rate: £19.00

Role Overview:
As the Programme Officer, the successful candidate will serve as the first point of contact for students and academic staff, providing comprehensive support for teaching and teaching-related activities. This role is ideal for individuals looking to kickstart or advance their career in Higher Education administration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality support for student lifecycle processes, from pre-enrolment to graduation and beyond.
  • Handle student and academic inquiries face-to-face, via phone, and electronically, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
  • Assist in student assessment processes, adhering to university deadlines and regulations.
  • Support quality assurance and accreditation requirements for relevant programmes.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of programmes and processes based on user feedback.
  • Maintain accurate student records and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive environment that promotes equality and diversity.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with a knack for drafting documents and correspondence.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, able to balance competing priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a willingness to learn new systems.
  • A proactive approach, capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

Desirable Experience:

  • Familiarity with databases, student records systems (such as SITS), and virtual learning environments.
