Software Developer - Python (Contract)

Location: London - Hybrid, 2 days/week on-site
Contract: Initial 6 months (view to extend)
Rate: £650–£750 per day

Overview
A global data-driven technology company is looking for a Python Developer to join their technology team on an initial 6-month contract. This is a hands-on role building and maintaining customer-facing and internal platforms, working across the full stack with a Python-based backend. The role is hybrid, with 2 days per week required on-site at the client's London office.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain full stack web applications with a Python backend
• Develop and consume RESTful APIs
• Work across both backend services
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, QA and other engineers
• Write clean, tested, maintainable code and participate in code review
• Contribute to architecture and technical decision-making within the team
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across the stack in a production environment

Skills & Experience

• Strong commercial experience as a Software Developer with Python (Django)
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and API design
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and CI/CD pipelines
• Comfortable working in an agile environment
• Experience in retail, e-commerce or high-traffic consumer platforms is advantageous
• Must be able to work on-site in London 2 days per week

Contract Details

• Duration: 6 months initial, likely extension
• Rate: £650–£750 per day (Inside IR35)
• Location: London – Hybrid (2 days on-site)
