Front End Developer (React)


Are you a passionate React Developer who enjoys building modern, user-focused applications and working on a variety of exciting technology projects?

At Reed in Partnership, we're continuing to invest in technology that supports our colleagues, customers and services across the UK. We're looking for a Front End Developer to join our growing development team, helping to deliver new applications, system enhancements and digital transformation initiatives across the business.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on a range of greenfield and existing projects, collaborating with Business Analysts, Project Managers, QA specialists and fellow developers to create innovative solutions that drive business improvement and deliver outstanding user experiences.

What You'll Be Doing

As part of our development team, you'll be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining high-quality front-end applications using React and modern development practices.

Working within an Agile environment, you'll help transform business requirements into scalable, secure and user-friendly solutions while contributing to the ongoing evolution of our technology landscape.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing new features and applications using React, Redux and associated front-end technologies.
  • Building clean, maintainable and testable code that adheres to development best practices.
  • Collaborating with developers and technical teams to continually improve coding standards and ways of working.
  • Working closely with Business Analysts to understand requirements and deliver effective technical solutions.
  • Optimising applications for performance, accessibility and usability.
  • Identifying and resolving technical issues through practical and innovative problem-solving.
  • Participating fully in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, reviews and retrospectives.
  • Supporting testing, deployments and project delivery activities where required.
  • Contributing ideas that improve team efficiency, development processes and user experience.
  • Taking ownership of assigned work and proactively communicating progress, risks and dependencies.
What We're Looking For


Technical Skills

We're interested in developers with experience in:

  • React (Functional Components)
  • Redux
  • REST API integrations
  • UI/UX principles and best practice
  • Jest and/or React Testing Library
  • GitHub
  • Jira
  • Modern IDEs and development tooling, including ESLint
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience developing front-end applications using React.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently whilst collaborating effectively within a remote team.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Demonstrable experience managing and delivering work within large projects.
  • Excellent organisation and time-management skills.
Desirable Experience
  • Experience developing applications in cloud environments, ideally Azure.
  • Knowledge of application security and secure coding practices.
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of business requirements.
  • Experience working within public sector or government-funded environments.
  • Experience providing technical guidance and support to internal stakeholders.
