This is a broad technical accounting and M&A-focused role, supporting acquisitions from due diligence through to post-deal integration, financial reporting, and compliance. The successful candidate will work closely with senior stakeholders, providing technical accounting expertise while helping integrate acquired businesses into finance systems, processes, and reporting structures.

Description


  • Support acquisition and integration projects from a finance and accounting perspective, coordinating with internal stakeholders and external advisers.
  • Conduct financial due diligence, reviewing financial statements, accounting policies, controls, and key business risks.
  • Prepare technical accounting papers and provide guidance on complex accounting matters, including business combinations, revenue recognition, leases, and share-based payments.
  • Manage acquisition and post-acquisition accounting activities, including journal entries, consolidations, intercompany eliminations, and reporting requirements.
  • Support the integration of acquired businesses into finance systems, processes, and reporting structures.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards (IFRS, UK GAAP and/or US GAAP) and assist with audit and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to financial reporting, goodwill and intangible asset assessments, and acquisition-related disclosures.
  • Develop and improve accounting processes, documentation, and best-practice frameworks to support future transactions.
  • Partner with senior finance stakeholders on strategic projects and wider finance initiatives.


Profile


  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA, CA or equivalent).
  • Experience within audit, accounting advisory, transaction services, or a commercial finance/accounting environment.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, including IFRS, UK GAAP and/or US GAAP.
  • Exposure to M&A, financial due diligence, business integrations, or corporate transactions is highly desirable.
  • Strong Excel and systems skills, with ERP experience advantageous.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and project coordination abilities.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
