SENIOR BUYER | SPORTS & LIFESTYLE | LONDON | HYBRID WORKING

The Role

We're working with an ambitious, fast-growing business within the sports and lifestyle space that is looking to appoint a Senior Buyer to help shape its next phase of growth.

This is an opportunity to join a creative, entrepreneurial environment where product sits at the centre of the business. From identifying new product opportunities and developing supplier partnerships to making key commercial decisions, you'll play an instrumental role in building a successful and profitable product offering.

Working alongside multiple teams, you'll have the autonomy to bring fresh ideas, challenge existing processes and make a tangible difference.

Ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment, enjoys taking responsibility and wants to grow with a business that has ambitious plans for the future.

Key Responsibilities

  • Shape the buying strategy, identifying opportunities to expand the product offering and drive business growth.

  • Research new products, suppliers and emerging market opportunities to keep the range competitive and commercially relevant.

  • Lead supplier negotiations, securing favourable costs, payment terms, production timelines and quality standards.

  • Establish and maintain strong supplier partnerships, ensuring reliable service and long-term value.

  • Oversee product development and purchasing timelines, coordinating with internal teams to ensure products are delivered in line with key business dates.

  • Manage buying budgets and stock investment, ensuring purchasing decisions are aligned with sales expectations and financial targets.

  • Analyse sales performance, margins and stock availability to identify areas for improvement and maximise profitability.

  • Review product performance throughout the season, making informed decisions around replenishment, pricing and markdowns.

  • Monitor market activity, customer trends and competitor offerings to identify new opportunities and inform future buying decisions.

  • Produce regular sales and stock analysis, using data to support recommendations and guide commercial planning.

About You

  • Previous experience within a Buyer or Senior Buyer role, ideally within fashion, sportswear, merchandise, lifestyle or a related product environment.

  • Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to identify opportunities that improve sales, margins and overall profitability.

  • Confident managing supplier relationships, negotiating costs and securing the best possible terms.

  • A good understanding of stock management, forecasting, buying budgets and product performance.

  • Analytical and comfortable using Excel and sales reporting to support commercial decisions.

  • A proactive approach to problem-solving, with the confidence to take ownership and make decisions independently.

  • Someone who enjoys working in a growing business, is comfortable with change and is happy to roll up their sleeves when needed.

  • Experience mentoring or managing junior team members would be advantageous.

  • An interest in sport, lifestyle, consumer brands or product development would be beneficial.
