Credit Controller & Data Analyst - #2165910
Pioneering People
Credit Controller & Data Analyst / London – Liverpool Street / £25,000–£35,000 DOE / Office-Based / Permanent, Full-Time
Love working with numbers, solving problems and getting results? This could be the role for you!
We’re looking for a commercially minded Credit Controller & Data Analyst to take ownership of credit control while helping transform how a growing SME manages its accounts receivable.
This isn't just about chasing overdue invoices. You'll dig into payment trends, spot potential risks before they become problems, resolve complex billing disputes and use data to make smarter decisions. You'll also play a key role in improving processes and moving the business away from manual workflows towards more efficient, automated systems.
If you're analytical, confident dealing with customers and enjoy finding practical solutions to financial challenges, this is an opportunity to make a real impact.
What you'll be doing
Turning data into decisions
- Analyse payment histories and customer behaviour to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
- Forecast potential payment issues and take a proactive approach to credit management.
- Use data to identify recurring billing errors, reduce disputes and improve cash flow.
- Cleanse customer records and historical balances to maintain accurate financial data.
- Help develop automated collection processes and more efficient financial workflows.
Taking control of credit and collections
- Proactively chase outstanding invoices by phone and email, building relationships while securing timely payments.
- Manage sales ledgers, allocate incoming cash and complete account reconciliations.
- Assess new credit applications and review credit limits based on customer payment behaviour and risk.
- Reconcile international payments, accounting for foreign exchange differences and banking charges.
- Manage international B2B collections across multiple company entities and currencies.
What we're looking for
We're keen to hear from someone who combines strong credit control experience with a natural flair for analysis and problem-solving.
You'll ideally bring:
- Hands-on experience with Sage 50 and sales ledger management.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs and data visualisation.
- Experience using data to support credit decisions and improve collection performance.
- A confident, commercially aware approach to debt recovery and dispute resolution.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to investigate discrepancies and find solutions.
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to build productive customer relationships.
- Experience with Sage Intacct or similar cloud-based ERP systems would be a real advantage, particularly if you've been involved in a finance system migration or upgrade.
- Telecoms experience is welcome but not essential. Familiarity with international invoicing, multi-currency transactions and complex billing structures would also be beneficial.
Why consider this opportunity?
This is a chance to combine traditional credit control with data analysis, process improvement and automation. You'll have the opportunity to influence how the business manages its receivables, improve financial visibility and help build a more efficient, forward-thinking credit function.
If you're ready to take a more analytical and proactive approach to credit control, we'd love to hear from you.
