Client Director - #2167522
Stride Resource Management
If you are an experienced corporate insurance professional who is comfortable managing complex clients and wants to work within a business investing heavily in its UK proposition, this is a strong opportunity to take on a senior, commercially focused role.
You will be responsible for a portfolio of larger corporate clients, typically with annual premiums in excess of £250,000, while also contributing to new business growth and retention across the wider corporate market.
The opportunity
This is a senior client-facing position within a global insurance broking group that already has a strong presence across the corporate sector and is continuing to invest in its UK business.
You will have access to a national structure, specialist placement capability and a broad range of technical resources, giving you the support to handle larger and more complex risks while maintaining ownership of the client relationship.
The role combines strategic account management with commercial development, so it will suit someone who enjoys protecting long-standing relationships while also identifying opportunities to grow revenue.
What the role looks like
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing and developing relationships with corporate clients paying in excess of £250,000 GWP.
- Leading renewal strategy across complex, multi-class insurance programmes.
- Working with broking and placement colleagues to secure appropriate terms and coverage.
- Identifying opportunities to broaden existing client relationships across additional classes.
- Delivering against agreed retention and new business targets.
- Building relationships with senior decision-makers, including finance, risk and board-level stakeholders.
- Supporting new business pitches and contributing to the wider corporate growth strategy.
- Coordinating specialist input across multiple areas of insurance where required.
- Maintaining strong technical standards and ensuring clients receive clear, commercially relevant advice.
Who this could suit
- You will already have significant experience working with larger corporate insurance clients and should be comfortable managing complex programmes across multiple classes.
- A strong technical understanding of commercial insurance is essential, alongside the ability to communicate confidently with senior client stakeholders and internal specialists.
- You will also need to be comfortable working in a role where both retention and new business performance matter.
- An established book of long-standing clients would be advantageous, as would a strong profile within your regional market, although neither is essential.
The business
- You will be joining a global insurance broking group with an established national presence, strong brand recognition and significant capability across the corporate sector.
- The business is investing in its UK platform, creating opportunities for experienced Account Directors who want the backing of a broader national structure while still retaining ownership of their client relationships.
Package and location
- The salary is circa £80,000 depending on experience, alongside a wider senior-level benefits package.
- The role can be based across the Midlands or London, with flexibility depending on your client base and regional relationships.
The next step
If you have experience managing larger corporate clients and want a role that combines strategic account management with genuine growth responsibility, it would be worth a confidential conversation.
I can talk you through the portfolio profile, the expectations around new business and retention, and the wider support available before you decide whether you want to explore it further.
