Are you an experienced Claims Adjuster with expertise in Construction and Engineering claims?

We're working with a well-established international insurance business to recruit a Senior Claims Adjuster - CAR/EAR to join its claims team in London.

This is an opportunity for an experienced claims professional to manage a varied portfolio of Construction All Risks (CAR) and Engineering All Risks (EAR) claims, taking ownership from first notification through to settlement. You'll work on both lead and follow claims, applying your technical expertise to complex coverage decisions, investigations and negotiations.

The Role

You will be responsible for:

• Managing first-party and third-party liability claims arising from CAR/EAR policies, from initial notification through to settlement and recovery.

• Assessing the cause of loss, determining policy coverage and identifying any further investigation required.

• Interpreting policy wordings and underwriting documentation to make informed coverage decisions.

• Managing claims investigations, negotiations and settlements within delegated authority.

• Setting and maintaining accurate, timely and realistic claims reserves.

• Working closely with brokers, clients, loss adjusters, solicitors and other external experts to deliver an effective claims service.

• Liaising with underwriters and internal stakeholders on claims strategy, technical matters and reporting.

• Maintaining accurate claims records and data, supporting management information and regulatory requirements.

• Contributing to initiatives that improve claims processes and departmental efficiency.

About You

We're keen to speak with candidates who have:

• Experience handling third-party liability CAR/EAR claims.

• Experience within the London Company Market, particularly across CAR/EAR and Engineering lines.

• Knowledge of JCT, LEG and DE clauses.

• Experience participating in market claims meetings, in either a lead or follow capacity.

• A strong understanding of insurance principles, policy interpretation and coverage analysis.

• Effective negotiation, communication and report-writing skills.

• Strong attention to detail, with excellent file and time management.

• The ability to work collaboratively while managing a portfolio independently.
