Paediatric Occupational Therapist – London

£35,000–£43,000 per annum | Permanent, full-time | 37.5 hours per week

Onsite across Walthamstow, Kilburn and Hayes, Bromley

Wednesday–Sunday; Monday and Tuesday off

Looking for specialist paediatric work with regular supervision, funded CPD and the whole of August off?

Recruit by Nature is recruiting one HCPC-registered Paediatric Occupational Therapist for an independent specialist clinical service supporting children with sensory, developmental and communication needs. You will join a multidisciplinary team offering Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy and autism assessments, with close collaboration between clinicians and families.

This opportunity suits an OT with relevant paediatric experience and practical experience supporting autistic children. You will help children participate in everyday activities, play, self-care and learning while developing your clinical expertise in a supportive setting.

What you can expect:

• £35,000–£43,000 salary, depending on experience.

• Equivalent to 7½ weeks’ annual leave, including bank holidays, allocated around fixed closure periods: one week at Easter, the whole month of August and two weeks over Christmas. Holiday dates follow these periods rather than unrestricted choice.

• £500 annual CPD budget and £500 annual wellbeing allowance.

• Pension contributions.

• Regular clinical and management supervision, mentoring and professional development.

• Specialist autism training and supportive multidisciplinary working.

• Opportunities for professional growth, with the OT development pathway discussed during recruitment.

• Skilled Worker sponsorship available for eligible HCPC-registered candidates, subject to individual eligibility and employer arrangements.

Your role:

• Assess children’s functional needs, sensory needs and participation.

• Use clinical reasoning to develop appropriate goals and intervention programmes.

• Deliver individual therapy, monitor outcomes and adapt support to each child’s needs.

• Provide practical advice to parents, carers and education professionals.

• Produce clear clinical reports, recommendations and accurate records.

• Manage caseload priorities and clinical administration.

• Collaborate with the wider therapy team and contribute to relevant service improvement.

What you will bring:

• Current HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.

• Relevant paediatric practice and experience supporting autistic children.

• Evidence of assessment, intervention planning and sound clinical reasoning.

• Ability to manage an appropriate caseload and maintain clear records.

• Effective communication with families and multidisciplinary colleagues.

• Availability for Wednesday–Sunday working and practical access to all three clinics, including at weekends.

Experience in sensory processing, specialist schools, community paediatrics or private clinics, and developing practical programmes for families and education teams, would be valuable. A formal Sensory Integration qualification is not a stated essential requirement.

Working pattern and locations

Wednesday–Friday, 11am–7pm; Saturday–Sunday, 9am–5pm. These attendance windows include breaks; the contract is 37.5 hours per week. Monday and Tuesday are regular days off.

This is one vacancy covering Walthamstow, Kilburn and Hayes, Bromley. Weekly clinic allocation and any travel during the working day will be clarified during recruitment.

Apply with your CV outlining your HCPC registration, paediatric and autism experience, availability and salary expectations. Start is as soon as practicable, allowing for notice and onboarding.
