Overview
Our client is a boutique long/short equity hedge fund managing under $1bn in assets and seeking to hire an Investor Relations & Capital Raising professional to work alongside senior management in driving the firm's growth.
This is a broad, commercially focused role for an individual with approximately 5-12 years of experience who is comfortable operating in a lean, entrepreneurial environment. The successful candidate will take significant ownership of the investor relations function, helping to manage existing investor relationships while supporting and contributing directly to the firm's fundraising efforts.
Given the size of the business, this role offers considerable exposure to senior decision-makers and the opportunity to play a meaningful role in shaping the firm's external profile and asset growth strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner closely with the firm's leadership team to execute investor relations and capital raising initiatives.
- Serve as a key point of contact for current and prospective investors.
- Support fundraising efforts across institutional investors, family offices, wealth managers, consultants, and other allocator channels.
- Manage investor communications, including presentations, quarterly updates, DDQs, factsheets, and bespoke information requests.
- Coordinate investor meetings, roadshows, conferences, and ongoing relationship management activities.
- Maintain oversight of the fundraising pipeline and CRM processes.
- Work closely with the investment team to articulate portfolio positioning, performance, and market views to investors.
- Contribute to the development of marketing materials and the firm's broader commercial strategy.
- Monitor investor sentiment, industry trends, and potential opportunities to support asset growth.
Candidate Profile
- 5-12 years of experience within investor relations, business development, fundraising, capital raising, or a related client-facing function.
- Experience gained within hedge funds, alternative asset managers, traditional asset management firms, private markets, or similar investment organisations.
- Strong understanding of financial markets, with exposure to equity-based investment strategies preferred.
- Proven ability to operate independently and manage responsibilities with minimal oversight.
- Confident interacting with sophisticated investors and senior stakeholders.
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship management skills.
- Commercially minded with a genuine interest in helping grow assets under management.
- Comfortable working in a smaller organisation where responsibilities can be broad and varied.
