Risk Officer, Power - Selby Jennings - #2168395

A leading global hedge fund is seeking a Risk Officer to join its growing Energy Risk team, providing day-to-day risk oversight across European Power & Gas trading activities.

Working closely with traders and portfolio managers, you'll be responsible for monitoring risk across physical and financial positions, developing stress-testing and scenario analysis, challenging exposures, and helping enhance risk analytics and reporting frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and challenge risk across European Power & Gas trading activities
• Partner closely with traders and portfolio managers on risk and exposure management
• Develop stress-testing and scenario analysis frameworks
• Contribute to risk reporting, limit monitoring, and portfolio analysis
• Identify areas for improvement within existing risk analytics and processes
• Collaborate with Technology and Quant teams to enhance risk tools and infrastructure

Ideal Background

• Experience within Market Risk, Trading Risk, Commodity Risk, or Trading
• Strong understanding of European Power markets and physical energy trading
• Exposure to Gas markets is advantageous
• Ability to communicate complex risks clearly and effectively
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Python and/or SQL skills preferred
