Senior DevOps Automation Engineer

Location: London or Sheffield / Hybrid Working (2-3 Days Onsite)

Rate: Up to £530 per day (Inside IR35)

Contract: 6 Months

Start Date: ASAP

About the Role

We're supporting a major financial services organisation undergoing a large-scale automation and DevOps transformation programme across complex enterprise platforms.

This is a senior engineering role focused on building resilient automation, modernising CI/CD capabilities and driving engineering best practices across a highly regulated environment. You'll work across automation, platform engineering, observability and governance, helping deliver scalable solutions at enterprise scale.

What You'll Be Doing

Designing and delivering enterprise-scale automation solutions using Ansible and Python.
Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub and Jenkins.
Developing Infrastructure and Automation standards across complex environments.
Integrating observability, monitoring and compliance capabilities into delivery pipelines.
Supporting secrets management and secure automation practices using HashiCorp Vault.
Driving governance, quality controls and engineering best practices.
Mentoring engineers and providing technical leadership across delivery teams.

What We're Looking For

10+ years' experience within DevOps, Platform Engineering or Automation-focused roles.
Strong Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) experience.
Expertise with Jenkins, GitHub and CI/CD pipeline development.
Strong Python engineering capability.
Experience with HashiCorp Vault, Nexus and API integrations.
Proven technical leadership and mentoring experience.
Experience working within highly regulated enterprise environments.
Exposure to IBM Z environments, z/OSMF or zOAU would be highly advantageous.
