Lettings Officer - Affordable & Social Housing
We're working with a well established national housing provider who are looking for a Lettings Officer to join their housing management team. They look after affordable, private rented and leasehold homes on behalf of local authorities, housing associations and investors, and they're known for running a tight, well-organised operation that puts residents first.
The role
You'll take ownership of the lettings process from start to finish, from the first application through to handing over the keys. A big part of the job is managing council nominations, which can be complex, so you'll need to be comfortable working through them carefully and keeping everyone in the loop.
Day to day, you'll be:
- Running lettings across mixed-tenure properties using choice-based lettings, CRM and referencing systems
- Taking applicants through affordability checks and referencing, and keeping them updated along the way
- Booking move-in appointments and tenancy sign-ups, and working with the income team to collect rent in advance
- Making sure compliance documents are issued and registered correctly and on time
- Looking after the customer portal and replying to applicant queries
- Logging affordable and social tenancies on CORE promptly
- Drafting addendums, pet licences, parking agreements and other tenancy paperwork
- Checking and processing invoices
- Helping new residents settle in and making sure their move goes smoothly
What you'll need
- Solid experience in affordable or social lettings, including council nominations
- Good organisation and the ability to juggle deadlines without letting things slip
- A sharp eye for detail and strong admin skills
- Confidence with Word, Excel and CRM systems
- A genuine interest in giving residents a good experience
- The ability to work on your own initiative and adapt when priorities change
What's on offer
This is a supportive employer that invests in its people, with clear routes for development and progression. Benefits include an enhanced pension, private medical insurance, extra annual leave, flexible working, life assurance, enhanced family leave, childcare support, a cycle to work scheme, season ticket loans, an employee assistance programme and retail discounts.
